‘More Fun’ gets another int’l award

MANILA, Philippines - The country’s popular tourism campaign “It’s More Fun in the Philippines” has garnered another international recognition.

BBDO Guerrero, a member of Omnicom Group Inc., was recently awarded the Grand Prix for Asia Strategy at the 2013 WARC Awards held in Singapore for the promotional campaign of the Department of Tourism.

The campaign also won a Gold award.

WARC, a marketing intelligence service, recognizes case studies that demonstrate the best strategic thinking in the region.

A total of 143 case studies were entered, and short-listed entries came from 10 different markets across Asia.

The campaign’s latest victory came after it won in other regional award shows recently – Creative Effectiveness at the 2013 Spikes Asia Festival of Creativity, Gold at The Appies in Singapore, and Gold at the Asian Marketing Effectiveness Awards.

The awards are seen as recognition of the campaign’s phenomenal success in revitalizing tourism for the Philippines despite smaller marketing budgets compared to rival countries.

BBDO chief executive Tony Harris said it is essential for a forward-thinking agency to foster a culture of effectiveness.

“There is particular pride for us in the fact that this campaign for the Philippines has become the toast of the region,” Harris said.

BBDO is a network office of BBDO Asia-Pacific, part of BBDO Worldwide and a member of Omnicom Group, a global advertising, marketing and corporate communications company.
