Good weather to continue this weekend
MANILA, Philippines - Good weather condition will continue to prevail over most parts of the country this weekend, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said yesterday.
Although Tropical Storm Quedan was forecast to remain over the Philippine area of responsibility until tomorrow, it will not directly affect any part of the country, PAGASA weather forecasting section chief Rene Paciente said.
However, some parts of the country, including Metro Manila, may experience isolated thunderstorms, Paciente said.
PAGASA also warned the public against sea travel over the eastern seaboard of Luzon.
Quedan slightly gained strength and slowed down as it continued to move north over the Philippine Sea yesterday noon.
As of 4 p.m. yesterday, the center of Quedan was spotted at 690 kilometers east of Basco, Batanes with maximum sustained winds of 110 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 140 kph.
It was forecast to move north-northwest at seven kph.
It is expected to be 660 km northeast of Basco, Batanes this morning; and 600 km northeast of Itbayat, Batanes or at 530 km east of Taiwan tomorrow morning.
By Sunday morning, it is forecast to be 540 km northeast of Itbayat or outside the Philippine area of responsibility.
