Jinggoy must be repentant, prelate says

MANILA, Philippines - Sen. Jinggoy's Estrada's expose claiming that P50 million was given to senators to convict ex-Supreme Court Chief Justice Renato Corona was not enough, an official of the Catholic Bishops' Conference (CBCP) of the Philippines said on Friday

Father Edu Gariguez, CBCP-National Action for Social Justice and Peace executive secretary, said the senator was not repentant after implicating his colleagues in the alleged anomaly during the Corona impeachment proceedings.

Gariguez said Estrada appeared not repentant despite being dragged into the P10-billion pork barrel scam himself.

Estrada's revelations was mere diverting the public's attention away from him to other alleged anomalies committed by other legislators, Gariguez said.

The prelated noted that Estrada's moral integrity has been lowered due to his actions.

"Bahagi ng pagsisisi ay ang pag-amin ng kasalanan at pagtuwid sa mali," he said.
