Cops pick up wrong Napoles brother

Mike Frialde - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Police picked up a brother of fugitive Janet Lim-Napoles on Sunday, but released him after establishing that he was not the sibling ordered arrested along with the businesswoman by a Makati court.

Ronald Lim bears a strong resemblance to the missing Reynald, but the fugitive has a receding hairline, according to Chief Inspector Romeo Nino of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group of the National Capital Region South.

Ronald was quiet about the whereabouts of his sister and brother, he added.

Police picked up Ronald at the Bonifacio Global City in Makati.

He was released as police had no legal basis to arrest him, Nino said.

A Makati court ordered the arrest of Napoles and Reynald after they were charged with the serious illegal detention of their former employee Benhur Luy.
