PeopleAsia honors Ninoy in special issue

MANILA, Philippines -  PeopleAsia pays tribute to the late Sen. Benigno “Ninoy” S. Aquino Jr. in its special commemorative issue on his 30th death anniversary. Aquino’s death is widely seen as the spark that led to peaceful struggle for the restoration of democratic freedoms in the Philippines.

For this special issue, Ninoy’s only son President Benigno “Noynoy” S. Aquino III sat down with PeopleAsia editor-in-chief and STAR columnist Joanne Rae Ramirez for an in-depth and exclusive interview on how his late father’s life – and death – shaped him into the man he is today.

The special picture-laden commemorative issue also features an exclusive article written by the late former President Corazon Aquino for PeopleAsia in 2003 about Ninoy’s struggles and triumphs.
