DFA document: 13 tagged in sex-for-flight probe

MANILA, Philippines - At least 13 individuals mostly staff of  the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) have been named in the controversial sex-for-flight scheme.

The scheme was purportedly used to ask sexual favors from overseas Filipinos in return for plane tickets or needed documents for their return home.

A DFA document shown to reporters by Akbayan Party-list Rep. Walden Bello on Wednesday reveals identities of the overseas DFA and accused to be involved in the intrigue.

Besides Riyadh Assistant Labor Attache Antonio Villafuerte recalled from his post last June, those named are Qatar officer Nasser Macarimbang, FWRC Riyadh manager Richard Seneres, Qatar Welfare Officer Sitti Jaffar and DOLE officers Marie Antonio and Blas Marquez.

Drivers from several countries were also said to be involved in the scheme, including Jose Gratil, Alfredo Labrador, Jose Casicas and Victor Godoy.

Interpreters Bashir Ayub and Mohammad Abdul Majid as well as Syria Augmentation team member Camaloden Guro were also tagged in the report.

While most of them are being investigated by DOLE, several have been terminated or suspended from their positions.
