MANILA, Philippines - The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) is set to celebrate the National Science and Technology Week with Expo Science 2013 at the SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia in Pasay City.
Expo Science 2013 will showcase the latest innovations, interventions and inventions of Filipino scientists and engineers as well as various works by the entire scientific community from July 23 to 27.
This year, the weeklong event which will carry the theme “Science, Technology and Innovation: The Road to a Smarter Philippines†will focus more on the pressing needs of various sectors such as agriculture, transportation, industry, services and climate change.
One of the guests of honor of the convention is businessman Manuel Pangilinan, who will give an inspirational message.
One of the events in the Expo Science 2013 is the “Metro Manila Disaster Summit: Handa Na, High-Tech Pa!†where the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration will present their disaster hazard map, DREAM LIDAR project, NOAH website and MOSES tablet.
