MANILA, Philippines - Daniel Salunga, Peniel Arcena and Paolo Panlilio of Manila Tytana Colleges won first place in the Undergraduate Student Research Competition, nutrition category at the 39th Food and Nutrition Research Institute (FNRI) Seminar Series held last July 5 at the Department of Science and Technology compound in Taguig City.
The group’s research, entitled “Improving Nutrition Knowledge among Selected Students Made Possible through Facebook via NUTRICLICK: An E-Module on Fruits and Vegetables,†bested entries from several other schools and universities.
Salunga, Arcena and Panlilio worked on the nutritional e-module as part of the requirements for their BS Holistic Nutrition with Culinary Arts program.
The research competition was a highlight in the two-day Seminar Series on Food and Nutrition Researches and S&T Activities.
Focusing on the theme “S&T-based Solutions: Tugon sa Gutom at Malnutrisyon,†the seminar series was organized by the FNRI of the DOST, in cooperation with the Food and Nutrition Employees Association Inc.
