4 bypassed Cabinet secretaries reappointed

MANILA, Philippines - Malacañang has submitted the reappointment papers of four Cabinet secretaries who were bypassed by the Commission on Appointments (CA) when Congress went into sine die adjournment early this month.

President Aquino signed the reappointment papers of Secretaries Ramon Paje of the environment, Carlos Petilla of energy, Leila de Lima of justice, and Corazon Soliman of social welfare and development.

The Palace also sent the reappointment papers of Commission on Elections commissioners Grace Padaca and Al Parreño, as well as commissioners from the Commission on Audit.

CA Secretary Arturo Tiu urged the public who may be opposed to any of the nominees to come forward and file complaints before the CA so that they can be heard once hearings are set after the 16th Congress convenes on July 22.

Paje thanked the President for the multiple trust and confidence and for recognizing his competence in managing the country’s environment and natural resources.
