Ghio Ong, Helen Flores - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - No Filipino was killed or injured when two passenger trains collided in Buenos Aires, Argentina last Thursday, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said yesterday.

“Re train collision in Buenos Aires which killed at least three people and injured 315 on June 13, our Philippine Embassy reports no Filipino casualties,” DFA spokesman Raul Hernandez said on his Twitter account.

Most of Filipinos in Argentina are concentrated in the capital city of Buenos Aires, the DFA said.

The trains collided near Argentina’s capital, killing at least three people and injuring 315.

Reports said Thursday’s crash happened nearly 16 months after a commuter train on the same rail line crashed into a barrier at a station in Buenos Aires, killing 50 people and injuring hundreds.
