MANILA, Philippines - All candidates in the 2013 elections have only until today to file their statement of poll contributions and expenditures, but among national bets, only a single political party and seven Senate aspirants have so far submitted their documents.
Reports on Thursday morning said that based on the list of the Commission on Elections (Comelec), only the United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) has submitted its statement of poll contributions and expenses as of June 12.
The seven senators who have already submitted their poll expense reports are Cristian Seneres, Ramon Montano, Ramon "Jun" Magsaysay Jr., Jack Enrile, and Senators-elect Bam Aquino, Nancy Binay, and Grace Poe.
UNA submitted its statement on Wednesday while the seven senatorial bets submitted theirs on Tuesday or Wednesday.
Also as of June 12, only 26 party-lists have submitted their statements of poll contributions and expenses.
All candidates in the recent mid-term elections must submit their campaign expense statements whether they won or lost. The Comelec said that today's 5 p.m. deadline won't be extended.
The poll body said winning candidates who will fail to submit their reports will not be able to assume office.
