Bomb threat hits BGC building

Mike Frialde - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Tenants and employees working inside the 15-story Net One Center building at Bonifacio Global City, Taguig were evacuated yesterday afternoon following a bomb threat.

Southern Police District director Jose Erwin Villacorte said no explosive, however, was found in the building at the corner of 26th and 3rd avenues after a sweep for explosives by bomb sniffing dogs.

Villacorte said the bomb threat was received by phone by an employee at the building at 1:54 p.m. and was relayed to building manager Gie Garcia, who called for an orderly evacuation of the building.

Taguig City Police was investigating the incident.

Villacorte said the caller was most likely a disgruntled employee of one of the companies renting space in the building, or it could have been simply a prank call.
