MANILA, Philippines - President Benigno Aquino III has left for this year's World Economic Forum (WEF) on East Asia in Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar Friday morning.

"Ibig sabihin, pagkakataon ito upang ipaalam ang kakaibang sigla na tinatamasa ng ating ekonomiya sa tuwid na landas," Aquino said, referring to the country's recent economic gains as it hit 7.8 percent growth for the first quarter this year.

Aquino also vowed to attract more investors and businessmen to enter and expand in the Philippines, hailed as the "brightest spark" in Southeast Asia.
