Miriam endorses Koko, Cayetano
MANILA, Philippines - After endorsing Team PNoy candidates Aurora Rep. Juan Edgardo Angara and Risa Hontiveros, Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago has endorsed senators Aquilino Pimentel III and Alan Peter Cayetano, also of the administration team.
Like Angara and Hontiveros, Santiago invited Pimentel and Cayetano to her house in Quezon City where she announced her endorsement.
Santiago gave Pimentel, her former student, a stronger endorsement. She said he has the idealism and passion needed to serve the Filipino people.
In the case of Cayetano, Santiago said he knows how to run the country so everyone’s needs are listened and attended to.
“He is very highly qualified and I hope we will return him to the Senate,†she said.
Cayetano welcomed the endorsement, saying he was humbled to be given a vote of confidence by one of the country’s leading public servants.
“I value her endorsement. But more than that, I value her respect,†he said.
