Over 100 families affected by tornado in Tarlac

MANILA, Philippines (Xinhua) - Over a hundred families were affected by a tornado that struck four villages in Tarlac yesterday afternoon, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said today.

The tornado hit the villages of Ventinilla, Cabayaasan, Tablang and Salumangue, all in Paniqui town at around 3:00 p.m. local time.

Aside from the 101 families or 403 individuals who were affected by the weather disturbance, 101 houses were either totally or partially damaged.

The NDRRMC said that the local authorities were closely monitoring the situation and continued to conduct damage and needs assessment in the affected areas.
