Nancy grateful for public’s continued trust in Binay

Jose Rodel Clapano - The Philippine Star

LEGAZPI CITY, Philippines – Despite the drop in the acceptance rating of Vice President Jejomar Binay in the recent Pulse Asia survey, United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) senatorial candidate Nancy Binay said yesterday she is grateful that her father is still the most trusted government official in the country.

Nancy said her father would continue to work hard regardless of his trust ratings.

“He was high in one survey and low in another. At the end of the day, he is still the government official with the highest trust rating,” she said.

With only 11 days before the elections, Nancy said UNA candidates would continue their campaign strategy to directly ask the people to vote for them. She said she also remains focused on her campaign.

“I don’t have the luxury of time. My father told me not to stop campaigning until I got my wish for my birthday, and that is to be able to serve the people through the Senate by being elected,” she said.

“I hope the voters will give it as special birthday gift. I am turning 40 years on May 12, a day before the elections,” she said.

Miting de avance in Caloocan

UNA senatorial candidate JV Ejercito said the miting de avance of UNA senatorial candidates would be held in Bagong Silang, Kalookan two days before the elections.

Ejercito said UNA secretary-general Toby Tiangco chose Bagong Silang so that UNA candidates could directly explain their platform of government to the poor.

“It will be a good crowd. Some of them are informal settlers and relocatees. These are the crowd who would understand our platform of government to make their lives better. They are the people who cannot feel the economic progress that the administration is boasting,” Ejercito said.

“Although we belong to different parties, our common denominator is in our platform of government. All of us want to pursue poverty alleviation,” he added.

Ejercito said he would work harder in the homestretch of the campaign to make up for lost time when he was hospitalized due to heat stroke.
