3 more judges named in Phl-China dispute

MANILA, Philippines - The International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea (ITLOS) has named the remaining members of the five-member tribunal that will hear the case filed by the Philippines against China on the West Philippine Sea dispute.
 
An April 24 letter to Solicitor General Francis Jardeleza, head of the Philippine legal team, disclosed that the three last judges of the Arbitral Tribunal of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea have been appointed.
 
The new members were identified as  Jean-Pierre Cot (France), Chris Pinto (Sri Lanka), and Alfred Soons (The Netherlands.)
 
Earlier appointed was Stanislaw Pawlak (Poland) as the second member of the tribunal. The Philippines nominated  Rudiger Wolfrum (Germany) to the tribunal. - Louis Bacani
