MANILA, Philippines - Metro Manila sizzled at 36.1 degrees Celsius Tuesday afternoon, the warmest recorded so far this year in the metropolis, the state weather bureau said.
Mark Calpo, weather observer at the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), said the hottest temperature was recorded at 3 p.m. at the agency’s facility in Quezon City.
Despite the scorching weather, PAGASA said a low-pressure area might enter the Philippine area of responsibility either today or tomorrow.
The low-pressure area is expected to bring light rains in some parts of the Visayas on Friday and in some portions of Central and Southern Luzon, including Metro Manila, on Saturday.
PAGASA said the low-pressure area has a slim chance of developing into a cyclone.
