Bam: There’s more than a family name

MANILA, Philippines - Administration senatorial bet Paolo Benigno “Bam” Aquino IV yesterday said his chances in the May elections should not be gauged according to President Aquino’s popularity.

“I don’t think it’s fair,” he said.

Aquino is being compared to Nancy Binay of the United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) since both of them belong to political families.

“We have our individual advocacies, platforms and beliefs. Besides, this is not a one-on-one contest,” the younger Aquino told The STAR.

He admitted that a comparison is inevitable, but said there’s more to a young candidate like him than a family name he has been carrying since birth.
