Team PNoy: Time to move on

MANILA, Philippines - Now that the United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) has decided to drop Senators Francis Escudero, Loren Legarda and former Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) chair Grace Poe-Llamanzares from its senatorial slate, members of the administration’s Team PNoy said it is time to move on.

Former senator Ramon Magsaysay Jr. said that the continued exchange of insinuations between UNA and Team PNoy would not do the people any good because what they should be hearing are the programs and actions of the candidates.

“I call on our voters to study the profile of their candidates, their characters and platforms of government,” he said, adding the focus should be on the more important issues that affect the electorate.

Magsaysay took a spill during Team PNoy’s Bacolod sortie but was given a clean bill of health by his physicians in Manila.

The 74-year-old former senator was on his way to the stage to speak during the rally when his foot got caught in some cables and he fell to the pavement.

He has since joined the other candidates.

“If we keep on harping on the issue of whether the three candidates will run under UNA or Team PNoy, voters will lose sight of what they’re supposed to be looking for, and that is what a candidate like me can and will do for them and for the nation,” he added.

Magsaysay said that UNA’s loss is the gain of Team PNoy, which he described as a group united by a common belief in the platform of the President and his administration.
