UNA bets back proposal on alliance with local party

Ding Cervantes - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The senatorial candidates of the United Nationalists Alliance (UNA) have expressed support for a proposal for the party to forge an alliance with Kambilan, a local party founded by Pampanga Gov. Lilia Pineda.

Kambilan replaced the Kampi party of former Pres. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. Almost all local officials in Pampanga have moved to the new party.

UNA senatorial aspirant Nancy Binay welcomed the move, saying her father, UNA stalwart Vice Pres. Jejomar Binay, has a “good working relationship” with Pineda.

Candidate Richard Gordon also expressed support for the move, saying: “We should always think of the common good of the country.”
