Looking for your soulmate? Go to church, priest says

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - A Catholic priest encouraged those who have not yet met their would-be lifetime partner to try looking in church.

Baclaran Church rector Victorino Cueto had been receiving requests for weddings from couples who say they met in the church.

Though pre-nuptial videos may be allowed to be shot there, the shrine does not hold weddings, Cueto said in an interview with PNA.

Majority of letters and petitions are on financial, health and professional concerns but Cueto said he also receives 16 to requests every month asking him to help them find a lifetime Valentine at least through prayers.

When he receives thanksgiving letters, Cueto said it means that the prayers have been effective.

“Baclaran is a place where one can pray…so whatever it is that you are asking from God through the Blessed Mother whether it be financial, health or even a lifetime partner are all welcome here,” Cueto added.

But now that the church has recently built a website on www.baclarannovena.org, hopeful romantics and others who would like to be prayed for may send their petitions through it.

Cueto added that his parish receives over a thousand letters through e-mail weekly.
