Cop who allegedly invested in Aman Futures gunned down
ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines – A police officer believed to have invested in the Aman Futures Group Phil. Inc. was gunned down by three men inside a village this city Friday night, according to a security official.
Police director Senior Superintendent Edwin de Ocampo identified the victim as Senior Police Officer 1 Raymond Jay Dalida, formerly assigned to the Philippine National Police (PNP) Police Security and Protection Group (PSPG) in Camp Crame.
Investigation showed that the victim alighted from his four-wheel drive vehicle and argued with three persons, who then chased him on board a motorcycle in Barangay Lunzuran about 10 p.m.
De Ocampo said witnesses disclosed that the three suspects pulled out their guns and fired at the victim. The victim sustained several gunshot wounds in his head and body and died on the spot.
“The witnesses overheard the three killers telling the police to return their money during the altercation,” he said.
De Ocampo said they were looking at the investment scam as one of the possible angles in the killing of the police officer.
He said there were also unconfirmed information that the killers could be among of those who hitched with the victim as investor of Aman.
