Evelyn Macairan, Rudy Santos - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The relics of St. Therese of the Child Jesus arrived in Manila yesterday afternoon accompanied by Rev. Msgr. Don Vito Pavilando from the Basilica of St. Therese in Lisieux, France.

The Military Ordinariate of the Philippines, led by Bishop Leopoldo Tumulak, welcomed Pavilando and the relics upon arrival at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1.

The relics boarded a white military vehicle provided by the Philippine Air Force in a convoy to Kalayaan Hall in Villamor Airbase, from where a procession will be held to her first stop at the St. Therese Shrine in Newport City across NAIA Terminal 3.

This is the third time that the relics of St. Therese of the Child Jesus would be visiting the country. It first came to the Philippines in 2000 and then again in 2008.

This time, it would stay in the country for four months and visit more than 48 dioceses and archdioceses.

Batangas Archbishop Ramon Arguelles asked the faithful to pray for a miracle before the pilgrim relics of St. Therese of the Child Jesus for the legislators to vote against the Reproductive Health (RH) bill.

Arguelles believes that prayers could do miracles in swaying the minds and hearts of the lawmakers not to support the passage of the measure.
