Good weather seen in next few days
MANILA, Philippines - Good weather is expected to prevail in most parts of the country in the next few days as tropical storm “Pablo” (international name Bopha) continued to move away.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said as of 11 a.m. yesterday, storm warning signals were lifted in all areas earlier affected by the typhoon.
As of 4 p.m., the eye of the typhoon was spotted 400 km west of Coron, Palawan with maximum sustained winds of 120 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 150 kph. It was forecast to move west northwest slowly at seven kph.
The storm is expected to be at 615 km west of Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro or outside the Philippine area of responsibility this morning.
PAGASA weather division chief Robert Sawi said the tail-end of a cold front was affecting Northern Luzon while an intertropical convergence zone was prevailing over Southern Mindanao.
Based on its 24-hour weather forecast, PAGASA said Palawan and the regions of Caraga, Davao and Northern Mindanao would be cloudy with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms.
