Maceda, Gordon now in UNA senatorial slate
MANILA, Philippines - Vice President Jejomar Binay has announced that former ambassador Ernesto Maceda and former senator Richard Gordon are now officially in the senatorial slate of the United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) for next year’s elections.
“I think we made a declaration today,” he said.
“I just read in my cellphone that the names of former senator Ernesto Maceda and former senator Dick Gordon will be included in our slate.”
Binay, who has left for Tehran, Iran for the 16th Non-Aligned Movement Summit, said UNA will have the majority of the 12 winnable senatorial slots in next year’s elections.
“You will see how many we have in our slate. I think my forecast is, on a good, better, best will be six, seven, eight,” he said.
Maceda was ambassador to Washington during the Estrada administration.
He also served as Senate president.
Gordon was secretary of tourism during the Ramos administration and chaired the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA).
