MANILA, Philippines - On the eve of President Corazon Aquino’s third death anniversary, her eldest daughter Ballsy Cruz defended her brother, President Aquino, for his outspokenness on certain issues.
“Pagkakataon iyon na magpakatotoo ang Pangulo,” Ballsy said at the launching of a book on her brother’s campaign edited by Margarita Juico, now Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office chair. Ballsy said her brother is so determined to leave a good government to the people and that would not be possible “kung laging iisipin niya ang sasabihin ng ibang tao.”
Ballsy was referring to the President’s open criticism of ABS-CBN news anchor Noli de Castro in the anniversary last Friday of the popular news show TV Patrol. She said she and another sister Viel Dee were at first worried that their brother was going to displease some people with his remarks.
