Corona in stable condition

- Non Alquitran -

MANILA, Philippines - Former chief justice Renato Corona is in stable condition at The Medical City in Pasig but his doctors had placed him under observation and will not likely discharge him from the hospital any time soon.

Corona remained under observation with regard to his kidney ailment complicated by his diabetes and heart problem.

“Corona’s personal doctor arrived Tuesday and he is now under observation on a number of ailments,” a hospital source said.

The source added that Corona was scheduled to be discharged from hospital yesterday but his personal doctor decided to place him under “further observation.”

Corona remained in his hospital bed at the 15th floor of The Medical City with his immediate family attending to him.

The STAR source, however, did not say who was among his visitors, except that Corona’s lead defense counsel former justice Serafin Cuevas visited him after the senator-judges convicted him by a vote of 20-3 on Tuesday.
