Blackout cancels flights at Iloilo airport
May 2, 2012 | 12:00am
MANILA, Philippines - All flights to and from the Iloilo Airport were cancelled last night due to a blackout caused by a fire at the airport’s power plant.
The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines said the fire started at around 4:35 p.m.
All airfield lighting systems were rendered out of service, forcing the cancellation of all night flights.
Airport officials said flights would resume once the power plant is repaired.
