Mapua grad tops licensure exam for electronics engineers

MANILA, Philippines - A graduate of Mapua Institute of Technology (MIT)-Manila topped the licensure examination for electronics engineers, the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced yesterday.

With a grade of 96.50 percent, Christian Cayao led the more than 2,600 examinees.

Mindanao State University graduate Ria Marine Palma placed second with a score of 95.10 percent.

The PRC said only 1,439 out of 2,687 takers passed the Electronics Engineer Licensure Examination held in Manila and Cebu.

Placing third in the examination was another Mapua graduate, Josielle Marie Caminong, who scored 94 percent.

Two other Mapuans, Steffi Kaye Cheong and Agatha Marie Alarilla, ranked fourth and fifth with scores of 93.20 percent and 92.80 percent, respectively.

De La Salle University graduates Jose Angelo Natividad and Alexis Alvin Under shared the sixth spot with a grade of 92.60 percent.

University of the Philippines graduate Jeffreu Castro and Far Eastern University-East Asia College graduate John Christopher Ligon shared seventh spot with a grade of 92.10 percent.

By scoring 92 percent, Mindanao State University graduate Jose Ricardo Catane placed eighth and De La Salle’s Miguel Roiberto de Leon ranked ninth in the examination.

Tenth placer was Julius Rommel Salud of Mapua with a grade of 91.50 percent.

The results were released three working days after the last day of examination.

Registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card and Certificate of Registration will be on April 26 and 27.

Successful examinees must personally register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals.
