MANILA, Philippines - Paris police arrested a Filipina nanny in connection with the alleged drowning of her ward, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said yesterday.
DFA spokesman Raul Hernandez said police informed the Philippine embassy in Paris of the arrest last March 12.
Hernandez said police reported that the Filipina nanny was taking care of a 10-month-old baby who drowned after she allegedly left the child in the tub.
The embassy exerted all efforts to ensure that the overseas Filipino worker (OFW), who was not immediately identified pending investigation, is provided with a lawyer to be amply represented.
