DFA chief to speak at MOPC

MANILA, Philippines - Foreign Secretary Albert del Rosario will be the guest speaker at the Manila Overseas Press Club’s “Diplomatic Night” tonight at the Grand Ballroom of the Hotel Inter-Continental Manila in Makati. Thousands of overseas Filipino workers have been caught in the escalating violence in Syria, and the DFA has been doubling efforts to repatriate the OFWs. According to MOPC chairman and STAR columnist Babe Romualdez, Secretary del Rosario is expected to brief the media and MOPC guests from the business and diplomatic circles on the situation with updates on the latest repatriation efforts and contingency plans of the government.
