Z. Sibugay vice mayor slain

MANILA, Philippines - A vice mayor of a town in Zamboanga Sibugay was shot dead by unidentified attackers in front of a bank in the prov- ince’s capital, Ipil, yesterday afternoon.

Chief Superintendent Elpedio de Asis, Police Regional Office 9 director, said Siay Vice Mayor Carlito Bayawa and his wife, Susan, were shot by two men on a mo- torcycle as they came out of a bank in Ip- il’s town proper at around 4:50 p.m. Sus- an was hit in the left arm and was brought to a nearby hospital in Ipil.
