AFP to honor groups, men in Bayanihan security plan

- Alexis Romero -

MANILA, Philippines - Private individuals and groups that assisted the military’s development projects in far-flung areas will be recognized today.

Armed Forces spokesman Col. Arnulfo Burgos Jr. said their private sector partners would be honored in the Bayanihan Awards Night at Camp Aguinaldo in Quezon City.

These individuals and organizations are helping them realize the goals of security plan Bayanihan to end the insurgency, he added.

Representatives from the media, local government, education sector, civil society and private sector are expected to attend the event.

Among the awardees is Sara Soliven-de Guzman, chief operating officer of O.B. Montessori and columnist of The STAR.

De Guzman, daughter of the late STAR publisher Max Soliven, was chosen for her “genuine and heartfelt realization of the mission of Bayanihan.”
