UP tops dentist exams

MANILA, Philippines - Seven graduates of the University of the Philippines placed in the top 10 of the licensure examination for dentists.

Ena Paula Austria topped the examination with a score of 82.87, followed by another UP graduate, Kimberly Ong, who obtained a grade of 82.76.

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) said only 239 out of the 601 examinees passed the exam, the written phase given last month and the practical phase this month.

Paula Rose Limchoa of UP-Manila placed third with a grade of 82.70, while Dianne Angeli Austria of UP-Manila placed fourth with 82.23 percent.

Cebu Doctors University graduate Rhea Ong placed fifth with a grade of 82.30 percent while Manila Central University-Caloocan graduate Kaye Criss Martinez placed sixth with 81.64 percent.

Roan Pachayco of UP-Manila placed seventh with a grade of 81.60 percent and another UP graduate Arvin Jay Guda followed with 81.54 percent.

Another UP graduate, Maria Joan Bautista, landed in ninth place with a score of 81.50 percent while Clarence Victoria Lao, of University of Perpetual Help System-Laguna placed 10th with a grade of 81.40 percent.

Registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card (ID) and Certificate of Registration will start on Dec. 14 and end on Dec. 22. The date and venue for the oath taking ceremony of the new successful examinees in will be announced later.
