MANILA, Philippines - SM Foundation Inc., through its Felicidad Sy Wellness Center, recently donated intravenous (IV) fluids for dengue patients confined at the San Lazaro Hospital in Manila in support of the private-public partnership between the Department of Health and SM Foundation.

San Lazaro Hospital has been identified as the National Referral Center for Infectious Diseases and Tropical Medicine in the country.

Undersecretary Gerardo Bayugo of the Department of Health received the donation from Connie Angeles, SM Foundation executive director for health and medical programs.

On hand to witness the donation were Dr. Soe Nyunt-U, World Health Organization country representative, and Drs. Winston Go, SLH Medical Center chief, and Benito Villarama, chief of clinics.

SM Foundation also turned over IV fluids to the Novaliches District Hospital and Quirino Memorial Hospital in Quezon City, considered a dengue “hot spot.”
