Noy's latest date? It's Iza Calzado

- Aurea Calica -

XIAMEN CITY – President Aquino’s last date before going on his state visit to this country was with actress Iza Calzado, sources said.

A source said actor Ogie Alcasid, a common friend and one of Aquino’s supporters in the showbiz community, introduced the two.

Another source confirmed that the two indeed went out on a date but was not sure if it was planned or if they merely happened to be in the same place.

Aquino’s love life once again became the topic of discussion after he joked during the first leg of his China visit that his love life is now comparable to the variants of his favorite soft drink Coca-Cola, which ranges from Regular, to Light, to Zero.

The last time his love life was talked about in the media was when he was seen in a Hotdog concert with teacher Mary Louise “Bunny” Calica in May. Before that, Aquino dated stockbroker Maria Elena Lopez and stylist Liz Uy. Aquino had complained of the lack of privacy in his love life several times.

In an interview with the Yanglan-Sun Media Group in Shanghai on Friday, Aquino said it would be difficult for a girl to be in a relationship with him because she would be placed under intense public scrutiny.

“When you go and meet somebody and you try to have a date it seems like the whole nation is joining you on that date. And I think for the person that I ask… she’s researched so thoroughly, top to bottom. Comments are elicited from so many quarters,” he said.

“Sometimes it’s even lined up on the front page, on top of the fold (of a newspaper),” he added.
