American Idol's Archuleta back in Manila for concert

MANILA, Philippines - American Idol Season 7 runner-up David Archuleta performed for Filipino fans in a one-night concert at the Araneta Coliseum last night.

When he arrived last Sunday at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport, fans lined up to greet him.

In an interview with GMA News, Archuleta said he’s happy to be back in the country.

“I love coming to the Philippines. The people are so welcoming,” Archuleta said.

He said that he also has high praises for Filipino singing sensation Charice, who he has worked with on a duet for a Christmas performance.

“She’s great. She’s very down to earth and I would love to work with her again because she’s a great person,” he said.

This is the singer’s third visit to the Philippines. He performed in Manila two years ago with Idol Season 7 winner David Cook and came to the country last November to promote his album “The Other Side of Down.”

GMA Kapuso star Julie San Jose was the front act for his concert.
