Warmer, more humid Holy Week

MANILA, Philippines -  This Holy Week, the weather will be warmer and more humid because of the easterly wave, according to the weather bureau.

Administration (Pagasa), said this will be observed particularly in Luzon because the easterly wave is coming from the Pacific Ocean.

Eastern Visayas and Eastern Mindanao, on the other hand, will experience light rains in the next three to five days.       

The rest of the country can look forward to generally good weather this week.

Daytime temperature in Metro Manila may exceed 35 degrees Celsius in the next few days. No tropical cyclone is expected to affect the country in the next five days.

Coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be slight to moderate.

The Department of Health (DOH) advises the public to protect themselves from the spike in temperature by getting proper hydration and using sun protection such as umbrellas. Dr. Lyndon Lee Suy, DOH Emerging and Re-Emerging Disease program manager, said excessive heat may cause heat stroke.

Heat stroke, also known as hyperthermia, occurs when the body produces or absorbs more amount of heat than it can handle. Symptoms of hyperthermia include dry skin, dehydration, nausea, vomiting, headaches, and low blood pressure.
