Cebu Pacific increases flights for holiday season

MANILA, Philippines - Leading local carrier Cebu Pacific Airways (CEB) disclosed that the airline has added domestic flights to cope with the increase in passenger traffic during the Christmas and New Year travel period.

CEB, which boasts of having skyrocketed to become the Philippines’ largest national flag carrier, said that the additional flights come on top of the existing flights in their already extensive domestic network.

From Manila, CEB will add flights to Bacolod (Jan. 2), Butuan (Jan. 3 and 5), Cagayan de Oro (Jan. 3-5), Davao (Jan. 2-5) and General Santos (Dec. 30 and Jan. 4).

CEB is also set to add flights to Iloilo (Jan. 2), Kalibo (Dec. 30, Jan. 2-5), Roxas (Dec. 30, Jan. 2-5) and Tacloban (Dec. 30).

Candice Iyog, CEB vice president for marketing and distribution, also issued a reminder to passengers who already have bookings to be early for their flights considering the huge volume of passengers in airports during the season.

“We hope guests will take note of our simple reminders and travel tips for a fun and stress-free holiday season,” she said.

Iyog stressed that flight changes must be made more than 24 hours before the flight’s scheduled time of departure.

She reminded passengers that those who have booked through www.cebupacificair.com or CEB reservation hotlines could avail of the airline’s new online check-in services by going to the “Manage Bookings” section in the website.

This is available for all Airbus flights within and from the Philippines.

CEB also issued a reminder about the hand-carried baggage limit of seven kilos, and the 15 kilos baggage allowance for check-in luggage given to passengers.

The airline advised passengers to weigh their luggage in advance to avoid inconvenience brought by exceeding the weight allowances.

CEB also urged passengers to check in for the flight as early as possible because of expected long lines at the security scanners and check-in counters.

“We recommend that guests check in at least 2 hours before their flight. CEB counters will close 45 minutes before the scheduled time of departure,” CEB stressed.

“Guests on international flights can arrive at the airport earlier and can check in 3 hours prior to the departure time. Aside from the usual security and check-in requirements, they will still have to pass through immigration,” CEB said.
