8 out of 10 satisfied with Noy's performance - StratPOLLS survey
MANILA, Philippines - A StratPOLLS survey released yesterday showed that eight out of 10 Filipinos are satisfied with the performance of President Aquino.
The survey, conducted from Oct. 9 to 13, found 81.2 percent satisfied and 18.8 percent dissatisfied with the President’s performance, for a net satisfaction rating of +62.4 percent.
In the National Capital Region, 70.5 percent are satisfied and 29.5 percent are dissatisfied (for a net of +41 percent) with Mr. Aquino’s performance.
Mr. Aquino’s satisfaction ratings were +66.2 percent (83.1 percent satisfied and 16.9 percent dissatisfied) in balance Luzon; Visayas +84.4 percent (92.2 percent satisfied and 7.8 percent dissatisfied); and Mindanao +58.2 percent (79.9 percent satisfied and 20.9 percent dissatisfied).
Mr. Aquino scored the highest net performance rating in the Visayas with +84.4 percent, compared to NCR where he earned a net performance rating of +41 percent.
StratPOLLS interviewed 1,210 adult respondents in 32 key cities of the country, using randomized and stratified methods. The Makati-based StratPOLLS is a sister company of dwIZ, Home Radio, Business Mirror and Graphic magazine.
“This is a very good benchmark grade for the President and from the layman’s point of view, everything is coming up roses notwithstanding the botched hostage crisis and all the labor pains of birth for the new government,” Prof. Alfredo Sureta, executive director of StratPOLLS, said in a statement.
The nationwide survey on the first 100 days of the Aquino presidency also included Vice President Jejomar Binay, Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile, Speaker Feliciano Belmonte Jr. and Chief Justice Renato Corona.
Binay earned a nationwide rating of +45.2 percent (72.6 percent satisfied and 27.4 percent dissatisfied).
Enrile obtained +22.2 percent (61.1 percent satisfied and 38.9 percent dissatisfied).
Belmonte, meanwhile, received a net score of -16 percent (42 percent satisfied and 58 percent dissatisfied).
Corona got -9.8 percent (45.1 percent satisfied and 54.9 percent dissatisfied).
“Aquino, Binay and Enrile all earned surplus net ratings as they were among the top players in the last media-driven election campaign as subjects of daily but catchy commercial advertisements mostly on television,” said Sureta.
