MANILA, Philippines - President Aquino and his girlfriend, Valenzuela City Councilor Shalani Soledad have broken up, sources told The STAR yesterday.
According to the sources, the President and Soledad first went on a “cool off period” and then broke up after Aquino arrived from his trip to the United States in September.
But the sources refused to detail the reason for the breakup, except that the two had both been busy and focused on their jobs.
As reports on the breakup came out, a Facebook account called Love Destroyed surfaced and said Soledad had found someone else.
Palace officials said they could not comment because it was a private matter.
