Pinoy seaman released by kidnappers

- Pia Lee-Brago -

MANILA, Philippines – A Filipino seaman kidnapped by suspected Nigerian bandits in Cameroon early this month was released the other day, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) reported yesterday.

The DFA said Wilson Nisda and a Croatian co-worker were released unharmed and are now in the custody of a Belgian shipping company crisis team.

Nisda and the Croatian seafarer are crewmembers of the Belgian vessel Amerigo Vespucci. The crewmen were conducting dredging operations off Cameroon when they were kidnapped last Sept.12.
