5,880 of 16,644 pass PRC criminologists examination

MANILA, Philippines - A graduate of the University of Cordilleras topped the criminologist licensure examination, the Professional Regulations Commission (PRC) announced yesterday.

Christian Pascual bested 16,000 other examinees with a score of 89.85 percent followed by Philippine College of Criminology (PCC) graduate John Romer Venturillo, who scored 89.10 percent.

PRC said only 5,880 out of 16,644 passed the exam given in the cities of Manila, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, Lucena, Tacloban, Tuguegarao and Zamboanga last month.

Rae Marc Alimurong, of Araullo University placed third with a score of 88.85 percent while Ariel Lioad, of International School of Asia and the Pacific and Janice Joy, also of University of Cordilleras scored 88.50 percent and placed fourth.

May Claire Duran, of Capitol University placed fifth with a score of 88.40 percent while Jason Ryan Panlaroche, of Pagadian College of Criminology and Services placed sixth with 88.20 percent.

De La Salle University-Dasmariñas graduates Ruby Ann Espineli and PCC graduate Ryan Gabia placed seventh with a score of 88 percent. University of Mindanao graduate Kirk Maignes placed eighth with 87.95 percent.

Deniebel Borbon from the University of Cebu placed ninth with a score of 87.90 percent, while Saint Mary’s University graduate Jeffrey Binwag placed 10th with 87.85 percent.

Registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card (ID) and Certificate of Registration will start on Sept. 27 until Oct. 8.

The oath taking ceremony of the successful examinees as well as those who have not taken their Oath of Professional is on Oct. 17 at SMX Convention Center.
