Davao road mishap: 6 dead
DAVAO CITY, Philippines – Six people died while eight were injured when a van traveling from Caraga town slammed into a tree in Sitio Tamia, Barangay Don Martin Marundan, Mati City in Davao Oriental Sunday morning.
Five of the casualties were members of a band on their way to a performance in the 7th Pujada Bay Festival in Mati City.
The dead were identified as Alfonso Ramos, Sheila Mae Abanio, Rolando Rimando, van driver Patrick Dandoy, and a certain Tricia.
The other passenger who perished in the
accident is yet to be identified.
Injured were Cherry Larobis, Jerson Larobis, Suzette Pagulong, Gerdion Carillo, Charina Tecodo, Israel Piao, Vincent Sael, and Francisco Abaniong.
The injured passengers were immediately brought to a hospital in Mati City.
