Mapua graduate tops electrical engineers exam

MANILA, Philippines - A graduate of the Mapua Institute of Technology topped this year’s licensure examination for electrical engineers, the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) said yesterday.

Rey Kindar Calle Jr. of Mapua led in the licensure examination held last May with a score of 88 percent.

Be Bryan Escabal of Mindanao State University and Lorwin Felimar Torrizo of University of the Philippines Los Baños shared the second place with a score of 87.75 percent.

Only 457 out of the 1,611 examinees passed the examination held in Manila, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo and Legazpi

Jey delos Reyes of Cebu Institute of Technology placed third with a score of 87. Ohvid Granaderos of UP Los Baños placed fourth with a score of 86.70 percent.                         

Jan Mikhail Villarino, also from Cebu Institute of Technology, placed fifth with a score of 86.45 percent. Tarlac State University graduate Harrold King Hayana ranked sixth with a score of 86.30.

Ronnel Jhon Bustamante from Cebu Institute of Technology ranked 7th with a score of 86.05 percent. Jarvin Co of UP Diliman placed eight with a score of 85.85 percent.

Herbert Godornes of Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Techonology placed ninth with a score of 85.25 percent and Warren Asendido of UP-Los Baños ranked 10th with a score of 84.45 percent.

Two graduates of Bicol University, on the other hand, topped the licensure examination for registered master electricians.

Rojoe Amante and Jocelyn Ludovice both scored 88 percent. Gene Armero of Divine Word College in Legaspi placed second with a score of 87.50. Rey Magalang of Devera Institute of Technology placed third with a score of 87 percent.

Only 539 of 1, 408 examinees passed the licensure exam for master electrician.

Two other graduates of Divine Word College- Ranjee Dolz and Jay-ar Detablan ranked fourth and fifth with scores of 86 percent and 85.50 percent respectively.

Emilio Brutas Jr. of Bicol University and James Paul Peña, of Divine Word College placed sixth with a score of 84.50 percent.

In the seventh place were Erickson Golondrina of University of Eastern Philippines, Luis Janaban of Sorsogon College of Arts, and Allan Lomerio with a score of 84 percent.

 In the eight place with a score of 83.50 percent were Jon Ray Aseo of Mapua Institute of Technology, Raffy Bacorma of Technological University of the Philippines, Joseph Macalimbang of University of Legaspi, Daunek Mayor of Bicol University, Leo Mark Navarrete of Bicol University, and Jestoni Tan of Cebu State College of Science.                      

In ninth place with a score of 83 percent were Jonnel Dumanjug of Estillore Technical School and Francis Gonzales, of Divine Word College.

Mike Jerome Guardian of Bicol University placed 10th with a score of 82.50 percent.

PRC said the registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card (ID) and Certificate of Registration is from June 9 to July 2.

The oath taking for successful examinees as well as passers of previous examinations who have not taken their professional oaths, will be held on July 10 at 1 p.m. at the SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia, Pasay City.
