Quezon City lawmaker faces raps for possession of CF cards

- Sheila Crisostomo -

MANILA, Philippines - The Commission on Elections (Comelec) is studying the possible liability of Quezon City Rep. Anna Susano for possession of compact flash (CF) cards used in the automated counting machines in the May 10 elections.

“We are studying this. We know two things are certain – she has CF cards in her possession and she is not authorized to have CF cards in her possession. These will be evaluated and we’ll come up with a proper legal action to address this,” said Comelec spokesman James Jimenez.

Asked about the possible case that could be filed against Susano, Jimenez noted that earlier discussion of the Comelec on the issue had only centered on how she got the CF cards.

“I don’t imagine that anyone would willingly give it to her or if anyone did, then there might be a problem there. If it was taken forcibly from Comelec property, again you have a case right there. Lots of possibilities. Let’s see how that develops,” Jimenez added.
