MANILA, Philippines - Lakas-Kampi-CMD presidential candidate Gilberto “Gibo” Teodoro Jr. is now ready to move on to face another challenge – surgery to remove a small cyst in his gall bladder.
“I am scheduled for surgery,” said Teodoro in a chance interview at the recital for outgoing Philippine Navy chief Vice Admiral Ferdinand Golez at the Armed Forces of the Philippines Theater at Camp Aguinaldo last Wednesday evening.
Golez is a member of Philippine Military Academy (PMA) Class of 1976 that adopted Teodoro.
Teodoro left early from the affair, which was also attended by former AFP chief and now ambassador to Brunei retired Gen. Alexander Yano, former AFP chief retired Gen. Victor Ibrado, and police director Magtanggol Gatdula.
“I have to go ahead, because I have to go fasting,” Teodoro told the generals.
When asked for his opinion of President Arroyo’s appointment of Associate Justice Renato Corona as chief justice, Teodoro declined comment.
Teodoro had earlier explained that even if the President will not appoint the replacement of Chief Justice Reynato Puno, the Supreme Court, with a majority of justices still intact, could fully dispense its function.
