Bangon Pilipinas goes on red alert
MANILA, Philippines - With election-related problems popping up less than a week before the national elections, the Bangon Pilipinas Party (BPP) has raised their vigilance to “red alert” status.
In a statement, BPP sounded the alarm after receiving reports that the precinct count optical scan (PCOS) machines incorrectly tallied the test ballots in Makati City and Pateros municipality.
This prompted the supporters of BPP standard-bearer Eduardo “Bro. Eddie” Villanueva to switch to “red alert” or take the position of extreme vigilance and readiness for the May 10 polls.
“The red alert posture means BPP supporters would be quick and decisive in responding to any sign of deception and dishonesty in the conduct of the election.” He then reiterated his call to every patriotic Filipino to be vigilant.
“We must never, never forget the ‘Hello, Garci’ scandal that was validated by the infamous ‘I am sorry’ of no less than the President herself. We must never forget that these are the very same people and network of operators who are still very much in power. That the people were cheated the first time is a tragedy and shame. To be cheated a second time by the same administration is unforgivable,” Villanueva said.
