Gabriela's fashion show to lighten campaign mood
MANILA, Philippines - If Willie Nepumuceno has his “Presidentiables Got Talent” to lighten the campaign mood, the women’s group Gabriela has an “Election Season Collection” fashion show featuring celebrities like movie actresses Angel Aquino, Rochelle Barrameda, and Keanna Reeves and newsmakers like NBN-ZTE scam whistleblower Rodolfo “Jun” Lozada.
The women’s organization decided to hold the grand event in an effort to bring the focus of the campaign to people’s issues and concerns through a witty but politically sharp fashion extravaganza.
The “Project Runaway: The Election Season Collection” fashion show makes its debut at the Mowelfund Film Institute in Quezon City on April 30 at 7 pm.
Apart from celebrities and political figures, the models also include senatorial candidates Satur Ocampo and Liza Maza.
Lana Linaban, Gabriela secretary-general, said Project Runaway is a sequel to the group’s successful “2000 Passion/Fashion Show” that focused on issues besetting the administration of then President Joseph Estrada.
